AKROTIRI PENINSULA
A big area to cover and we started at the tower hide i believe to be Zakaki pools where there was not to see at first as the reeds had grown quite tall, Gary picked out a Little Crake that showed on and off, around 16 Purple Herons flew in and dropped into the reeds and out of sight. A Red-rumped Swallow flew around the hide with a coupe of Swallows. Checking the pool fringes by the roadside, another Little Crake was picked out and showed much better

At Lady's mile beach, 10 Armenian Gulls were on the sea at fairly close quarters just off the restaurant. Other gulls were scattered around on the surrounding pools including 6 Slender-billed Gulls, 1 Baltic Gull and 2 Black-headed Gulls.

Other than that it was pretty quiet around the pools and only a Whinchat, a Northern Wheatear and 2 Black-eared Wheatears were noteable
We moved onto Akrotiri marsh where several Black Francolin were heard calling from nearby fields and a Nightingale was seen. Not a lot was seen from the hide but nearby a nice Squacco Heron was feeding along with 12 Cattle Egrets
